Dr. Sonia Leziy and Mr. Neil Appelbaum (invited): Protec Lab “Implementing a collaborative clinician-technician digital workflow: A powerful combination of digital implant treatment planning, surgical placement and prosthetic reconstruction using an interdisciplinary team approach”
Sponsored by:

Learn More

Advancement in implant dentistry pivots around the digital workflow. It is profoundly influencing the communication and improving treatment outcomes for the surgical, restorative and technical team members, yet challenges them in the learning process. This presentation will highlight our experiences and insights on the strengths and struggles in the implementation of a true digital workflow and sensitize the audience to steps to better the experience and technology integration in the emerging digital practice. Emphasis will be placed on how to successfully implement a digital workflow for the entire interdisciplinary team. We will showcase some of the new digital processes and materials used in today’s progresive laboratory.

Our session objectives will address:

-The surgical team members’ perspective- recognizing the benefits of the digital workflow to plan, design and perform more accurate surgical treatments for tissue management and implant dentistry. Clinical benefits include greater lateral knowledge and communication, improved treatment accuracy and reduced treatment time/steps. We will illustrate how the laboratory has been key to successful implementation of digital dentistry into surgical practice in planning, guide fabrication and transitional restoration solutions.

-The technician’s perspective- highlighting the laboratory’s collaborative role to improve predictable restorative outcomes, reduce errors with regards to surgical and prosthetic complications and failures, and how this has improved trans-discipline knowledge and impacted our outcomes. This workflow saves the clinician time and helps forsee challenges on the day of surgery and especially with regards to the final restoration. Utilizing advancements in software and materials available to today’s laboratory, the result is a better outcome for the patient.

Nico and Klaas(invited)Pro-Esthetics Dental Lab “Applying 3D Face Scan Technology to the Digital Work Flow for Multi-disciplinary Treatment Planning”

Learn More

The purpose of this lecture is to demonstrate the value of combining digital with analog technology to enhance the value and quality of case planning and the restorative work flow. The result is a comprehensive Digital Work Flow that includes all disciplines in the overall treatment process.

The demonstration will show how the Planefinder developed by Udo Plaster is used in combination with Zirkonzahn’s Facehunter 3D technology in setting up all relevant information and images for comprehensive evaluation and case planning. Traditional Analog steps i.e. Facebow Registration are replaced by Digital steps. This enables a digital work flow for an interdisciplinary approach where all parties can communicate face to face or remotely before treatment commences. Treatment can then be monitored to ensure that the plan is followed and each step is completed satisfactory to enable us to achieve the desired final result.

Function and Aesthetics come together in a final result as was planned before the start of the treatment process.
